DEFENSE AND NETWORKING
Our research group
developed several audiovisualization design schemes that dealt with the
problem of cyberattacks. CROMDI’s initial display concepts proposed
to integrate data feeds from multiple sources and displays information
relating to the commanders mission and the impact of network problems
on that mission. Specifically the goals of the concept displays are to:
- Enhance effective and rapid response in time critical situations
- Enable real time actions, focusing on proactive decision making
- Take advantage of commander’s perceptual abilities
- Take advantage of commander’s knowledge / experience / intuitive
feel
- Include new capabilities, showing:

all dependences between network resources / mission critical tasks,
and vice versa
- redundancies and substitutability of resources needed to support mission critical tasks - sequential order in which specific resources are needed for mission critical tasks |
